Salad Dressing Cake
By: Myrtle Morrison

  • 1 c, water
  • 1 c. chopped dates
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 c, salad dressing (I use Miracle Whip)
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 2 c. flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Pour water over dates and baking soda; let stand. Combine remaining ingredients and mix well. Add the date mixture. Pour into a greased 9 X 13. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 300 and bake for 45 minutes more or until done. (this recipe was given to me by my husband's grandmother, Mary E. (Becker) Morrison)
